“I am in the business of motivating people.  So many times in my life people ask who motivates the motivator?  My response is who ever has more motivation in the area I require motivation in!  In the summer of last year I signed on to attend a Medicine Journey in Peru.  Included in that journey was a five day trek on the Inca Trail.  Now I heard the Inca Trail is arduous in spots and depending on weather can be extremely challenging.  At 44 years old I wondered if the fact I was an athlete in my youth would carry me through.  With some honest self evaluation, I considered the fact that 10 plus years of very little activity may have impacted my ability to leverage the ‘athlete’ that lived in  my heart and not my body.  Enter Carol Collin, I began training and being motivated by one of the most motivating trainers I had met to date.  We worked hard for the months prior to my departure.  When I finally arrived in Peru and started the trek I was blown away at just how challenging it really was.  Some of the trekkers that started with us were literally carried out and off the trail.  At one point we had hit a mountain peak where many of our group required oxygen.  I stood at the top of that mountain wishing I had a huge poster board and felt pen to simply write in bold letters  THANK YOU CAROL!!!   I didn’t have it on the mountain, but have it now….THANK YOU CAROL!”

When I joined Why Not Thrive Boot Camps I did not know what to expect. I even considered making up some kind of excuse so I wouldn’t have to go. But I sucked it up and decided what is one hour out of my life and if I don’t like it I don’t have to come back. So I went and immediately fell in love with Carol she is amazing. She told me do what you can but try to keep moving. I started struggling with my weight 3-4 years ago and believe me I have tried everything. Some of them I would lose even up to 60 lbs but the weight always came back. I need some thing different that I would enjoy, I have a gym pass but I get bored. Why Not Thrive Boot Camp is what I found out I was missing in my life. I have met so many amazing people who cheer me on when I feel I have nothing left. Carol has helped me lose 10 lbs so far and helped me find healthy things I can eat that work for me and my schedule. I wake up in the morning with energy and feeling amazing, which by the way is very new to me. I am in a better place mentally and physically. Carol is marvelous she gives a lot of individual attention makes the exercises fun and not like your exercising. The groups are small and supportive. We work hard and it shows in a short time. Carol helps modify the exercise for those who are not able to do the harder ones and encourages everyone to strive to do their best. Because of Carol I can truthfully say I have lost weight, I enjoy working out with her and our group. I am watching what I eat now because exercise alone will not give you the body that you are looking for. I am not the youngest person in the group I am 55 years old and I thought that I maybe past my prime. Carol said no problem it’s really up to you if you want to make it happen then make it happen! It’s hard work and the results prove that Carol does know what she is doing.  I thank you Carol because of you I feel better, lost weight, posture is better and I now have knowledge on proper foods to eat.

When I first joined Why Not Thrive Boot Camps, I was trying it out for a month with a few friends. I have always been a very sedentary person, and had no desire to really change that. I joined thinking it would be too hard, and I wouldn’t be able to keep up. When I met Carol, it didn’t take me long to see that she was a motivator with tons of energy. She made me feel like I was the only person in the class, all the while, working with the whole class. Anytime an exercise was too difficult, she would show me how to modify it so I could slowly build up to doing more. Somewhere around the three week point, I realized I was doing things that I hadn’t been able to do when I started. Carol is always encouraging us to push ourselves, but also to listen to our bodies, and this has made it easy for me to participate in boot camp at my own level. Carol has a way of encouraging us into rooting for each other, and to see exercise as a way to reach whatever goal we set for ourselves. I set a goal of toning up my very overweight, body, and told Carol that I wouldn’t make it about weight. I am already having friends notice that I am toning, and as a little bonus, I lost eleven pounds in the first four weeks. Carol is providing the energy, and encouragement to change the way I think about fitness, exercise and being healthy. Thank you, Carol!! You are helping me change my life, and I am loving it!!!

The first time I walked into “Boot Camp” I was a little affraid of what I was getting myself into. The words Boot Camp to me mean extreme physical excersises for long periods of time, as I am joining the military, that is what I expected, and almost scared me away. I figured I should give Carol a chance at least. Then I realized something, I was extremely out of shape for my age and body size, and the only thing I can do to change that, would be change my habits. Carol’s “Boot Camps” really changed my lifestyle. Her excersizes were perfect for anyone willing to change their fitness. She will give you one thing to do, but if you want to make it easier, or harder she will tell you and show you how to modify it. That is what I needed to slowly push myself into fitness. Every class was different in some way, either with excersizes, music or even the style of the workout, it is great! Her amazing personality grew on everyone of her ‘students’ and the same group worked out for months. That was when I realized that I wasn’t drinking 3 litres of water each workout, and I was able to complete most of the “boot camps” without even having to take long breaks. Carol made fitness fun and enjoyable. The things I could do near the end, was simply impossible before. The lifelong friends I have made and the experiences we have all been through was well worth it. I highly recommend joining with her, before even thinking about joining anywhere else, trust me, you won’t regret it!!
